Note to Organizer for Livestreaming

The venue cannot output audio through its existing sound system, so we will need to bring and set up our own mixer and microphones.

Agoda will provide a JBL EON208P speaker system.

Audio Diagram

The LiveGarten team will provide a Yamaha MG12XU mixer or an equivalent model as the reference mixer for the audio system.

The wireless microphone system will be connected to the mixer using XLR cables.

Recommended Audio Signal Flow

Audio Routing

• Wireless microphones → Yamaha MG12XU
• Yamaha MG12XU MAIN OUT / STEREO OUT → JBL EON208P
• Yamaha MG12XU GROUP OUT → Audio Interface → Live / Streaming System
• The Audio Interface must receive the audio signal directly from the GROUP OUT of the mixer.
• The Audio Interface output must not be routed back into the mixer input path.
• Do not use a 3.5mm-to-XLR cable as an alternative audio connection.

GROUP OUT to Audio Interface

The audio signal for the live/streaming system must be taken directly from the GROUP OUT of the Yamaha MG12XU and connected to the Audio Interface.

• Use only ONE GROUP OUT connection.
• Connect the GROUP OUT to ONE input of the Audio Interface.
• DO NOT connect both GROUP OUT L and GROUP OUT R to the Audio Interface at the same time.

GROUP OUT (L) → Audio Interface Input

OR

GROUP OUT (R) → Audio Interface Input

DO NOT connect

GROUP OUT (L) + GROUP OUT (R) → Audio Interface

The Audio Interface should receive the signal from the GROUP OUT only.

Important Caution

[!CAUTION] DO NOT turn on the 48V phantom power under any circumstances.

Turning on 48V phantom power may damage the equipment.

[!CAUTION] DO NOT connect a 3.5mm audio output directly to an XLR input.

Do not use a 3.5mm-to-XLR cable as an alternative connection between the audio system, mixer, or Audio Interface.

This setup may cause an audio loop or feedback issue, especially when the receiving system is also routing the audio signal back into the mixer.

Audio Loop Prevention

• The streaming/recording system must not return its audio output back into the same mixer input path.
• Do not create a loop between the mixer output, Audio Interface, computer, and mixer input.
• The Audio Interface should only receive the required audio signal from the GROUP OUT.
• Do not route the Audio Interface output back into the Yamaha MG12XU.
• Check the complete signal path before powering on the system.

Sound Check

Before the event starts:

1. Check all XLR connections.
2. Check each wireless microphone individually.
3. Check the mixer input levels.
4. Check the main output to the JBL EON208P.
5. Check the GROUP OUT signal to the Audio Interface.
6. Confirm that the streaming/recording system is receiving audio correctly.
7. Confirm that no audio is being routed back into the mixer.
8. Check for feedback, echo, or duplicated audio.
9. Confirm that only one GROUP OUT channel is connected to the Audio Interface.

Important Notes

• Keep spare XLR cables available as backup.
• Keep spare power cables and extension cables available.
• Do not enable 48V phantom power.
• Do not use a 3.5mm-to-XLR connection.
• Do not connect both GROUP OUT L and GROUP OUT R to the Audio Interface.
• Do not route the Audio Interface or streaming computer output back into the mixer.
• The Audio Interface must be connected directly to the GROUP OUT of the Yamaha MG12XU.
• All audio connections should be tested during sound check before the event begins.
